As Financial Controller, Naftoli manages a team of accountants who assist in preparing the company’s monthly and annual financial reports, as well as identifying trends, and financial forecasts. Naftoli supervises our accounts payable team and helps motivate and lead our finance team members with his strong leadership skills. Naftoli is a licensed CPA in the state of New Jersey and holds a Masters in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, Bracha manages our team of accountants in the preparation and review of purchase journals and financial statements for all of our health care related businesses. Bracha’s creativity has proved to be a great asset in helping our team develop efficient processes for our financial reporting.
With his experience at one of the largest accounting firms and more than a decade of providing attestation and advisory services to clients in the financial service industry, Charles applies his skills to developing and maintaining our accounting policies and procedures, including internal controls. Charles manages the financial, cost and ad-hoc reporting processes, and coordinates the audit process with external auditors. Charles is a licensed CPA in the State of New Jersey and holds a Masters in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
With a background in finance, Marc has worked primarily in health care as a controller for companies that operate large numbers of nursing homes. As The Portopiccolo Group’s Vice President of Treasury Management, Marc oversees the company’s cash management and financial analysis programs. Working closely with all of our lenders, Marc also manages all of the company’s working capital lines.
Yossie joined The Portopiccolo Group after a distinguished career at one of the largest accounting firms in the US. His experience ranges from managing multiple audit and tax engagements for asset management clients to advising private equity and hedge fund managers. Yossie manages our financial team which oversees all financial matters, including accounting, audits, taxes, accounts payable and financial reporting. Yossie is a CPA in the state of NY and NJ and has an MBA from Rutgers University, Rutgers Business School.
With dual finance and healthcare experience, Tyler strengthens the Risk Management department of The Portopiccolo Group. Tyler is involved with ensuring all procedures, protocols, and strategies are fully implemented to protect the company and its assets. Tyler is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive end-to-end view of risks and designing and implementing an effective and consistent risk management program. Driving best-in-class control programs, Tyler supports several key areas including strategy definition and execution, internal governance, project management, business planning and metrics reporting. Tyler holds an MD along with an MBA in Finance.
Mo has been with The Portopiccolo Group since its inception in 2016. He previously worked for a design build group that specialized in healthcare facility renovations. Using his background in facility renovations, Mo works closely with the administrators and maintenance directors, to oversee plant operations for all of our facilities and real estate projects.
Avi got his start in senior planning and then worked as a mortgage broker at a large New York based brokerage firm before joining The Portopiccolo Group. Using his contacts and business acumen, Avi guides The Portopiccolo Group into new business ventures ranging from health care related businesses to utilization and development of a myriad of real estate projects.
Israel oversees all labor throughout the entire company. Israel brings strong intellect and brilliant outside the box thinking to delicately balance the enormous task of managing payroll and accounts payable for all company employees and agency staff. Calling on his experience as the chief manager of more than thirteen warehouses for a large medical supplies company, Israel provides expert guidance on all labor management and human resources related matters
Before becoming a valued member of The Portopiccolo Group team, Batya built a solid foundation in health care administrative services, as a billing manager and operations manager in large pharmaceutical and health care companies. Batya’s ability to balance a multitude of tasks is key to the company’s ability to manage a large number of investments and ventures. Her responsibilities include pharmacy cost containment, managed care contracting, licensing, and management of all insurance policies for corporate and all skilled nursing facilities.
Before joining the Portopiccolo Group, Jean served as the Corporate Compliance Officer and Privacy Officer for a large Long-Term Care Organization. Jean is crucial to the advancement of the company’s compliance program including expansion and management of the Risk Scorecard, formalization of Compliance Training Modules, guidance with regard to Excluded Persons, HIPAA violations, and working closely with the legal department to strengthen the companies Quality Assurance and Process Improvement programs. Jean is also responsible for directing the Internal Audit and Medical Review department.

As The Portopiccolo Group General Counsel, Akiva handles all legal related matters. From managing the acquisitions and dispositions of nursing homes and other real estate, to labor, risk management, and vendor contracts, Akiva’s responsibilities cover the gamut. Prior to joining The Portopiccolo Group, Akiva worked for a Long Island tech law firm and represented one of the largest entertainment companies in the US before moving over to real estate where he represented clients in all manner of real estate and health care related transactions. Akiva earned his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School.
Naftali founded a small medical supplies company in 2012, and together with Simcha Hyman, grew the company to a multi-million dollar venture in just a few short years. After selling their business to a billion-dollar private equity firm, Naftali and Simcha founded The Portopiccolo Group, a multi-faceted investment and management company. Since its founding, Naftali has primarily focused on the operations of all aspects of the company. With his keen ability to understand and focus on every detail of the company’s operations and quality initiatives, Naftali’s vision was key to the buildout of a strong regional, clinical and operational team to efficiently operate the skilled nursing portion of The Portopiccolo Group’s investments. Currently, Naftali’s primary focus is planning for new investment opportunities related to real estate, private equity and lending.
With a background in finance, Simcha parlayed his unique ability to envision growth potential and perform complex financial analysis into the founding of a multi-million-dollar medical supplies company together with Naftali Zanziper. After selling the business to a billion-dollar private equity firm, Simcha and Naftali shifted their focus from medical supplies to medical care. Since acquiring their first nursing home in 2016, Simcha has focused on the growth of the company by negotiating the acquisition of skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, as well as the successful launch of a number of related healthcare service companies. Furthering his vision of a multifaceted company, Simcha has prioritized the buildout of a corporate team capable of operating a skilled nursing company as well as real estate, lending, investment and other venture opportunities.
